It started with a doctor who didn't ask why.
I'm a naturopathic physician, educator and Chief Medical Officer at Precision Analytical. For 20 years I've worked in fertility and women's hormonal health, and I've trained thousands of clinicians to look for the answers a standard workup skips.
WHERE IT BEGAN
"Shouldn't we find out what's wrong and fix it?"
At 17, I still hadn't gotten my period. My first OB-GYN didn't investigate. She prescribed birth control. When I asked what would happen when I wanted children, she told me there were fertility drugs for that.
That answer sent me to naturopathic medicine. I wanted to understand why a body wasn't working, not just override it.
Years later, my husband and I were ready to start a family and my cycles were still irregular. I tracked, applied what I'd learned and got my cycle regulated in about three months. Even then, we didn't conceive right away. Without my training, I don't know how I would have navigated it.
Why I teach clinicians
Over 20 years I've worked with thousands of couples, and I've seen how often "unexplained" just means "not fully investigated." There are far more couples who need this kind of care than there are clinicians trained to give it. So now I spend most of my time teaching: thousands of clinicians have learned my approach, and every one of them can help patients I'll never meet.
